At its meeting held on Monday, headed by Prime Minister Omar Al-Razzaz, the Council of Ministers decided on Monday to appoint Dr. Qais Al-Safasfah as head of TVSDC.

The appointment resulted from obtaining the highest results among all applicants, who were interviewed by the Ministerial Committee for selection and appointment to leadership positions.

The appointment was based on the provisions of Article 9 / b of the Appointment System for Leading Positions No. 78 of 2019 and its amendments, based on the principle of competition, up to eligibility and competence as a main criterion for their position.

Implementation of engineering and consultancy training  

Implementation of 40 programmes in training and technical engineering consultations for major companies in the Arabian Gulf in (Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain) in the engineering, energy, electricity and oil sectors.

As for engineering consultancy, Dr. Qais presented his experiences to many major companies in the Arabian Gulf, planning and supervising several engineering projects, participating in preparing the annual budget project at the university, participating in preparing plans, training programmes for major companies in the Arabian Gulf in (Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain). He is a member of more than ten international organizations in the energy, engineering, training and consulting sector, supervision of implementation and management of integrated projects (construction, mechanical and electrical), feasibility studies and chairing committees of practices and tenders and studying technical offers, decision and all project study work before and after contracting and all supervision, inventory, initial and final receipt, health, occupational safety and plant security work, project management: feasibility studies for engineering projects – price estimation and item analysis – strategic planning of projects Engineering – scheduling – risk, quality and time management – costing and human resources for the project – preliminary studies, contracting, site delivery and supervision of implementation – inventory and ongoing abstracts in project management – infrastructure project management. Accredited as an expert for Technical and Vocational Education from TUV International Engineering Consultancy Company where the implementation of standards and requirements for the implementation of TVET training programmes has been implemented, preparation of budgets for TVET programmes, evaluation of TVET programmes, preparation of occupational standards for electricity sector companies for the Electricity Companies Group in the Sultanate Oman and preparing career guidance and counselling plans.
